PARIS. – Armenians will never succeed in the Genocide issue, famous French-Armenian singer, Armenian Ambassador to Switzerland Charles Aznavour said in an exclusive interview with Nouvelles d`Arménie.

According to him, Armenians stumble at the word ‘genocide,’ which impedes their pace.

“I get nervous as we would never win the case. The thing our opponents expect from us is that people who still carry the remembrance of the genocide died for them to get rid of those witnesses. No state defended Armenia. France recognized what it did but nothing more. And no state is going to help us,” Aznavour stressed. "Where are the people who criticized me for having expressed such an opinion? What do they do to help Armenia? I spoke to an Armenian barrister in the U.S. who has more than 300 lawyer-employees. He also thought like others, but when I expressed and explained my viewpoint, he admitted that I am right."

According to him, the insistence on the word ‘genocide’ is only harmful and does not help.

"I am not a politician I get nothing of it. But I know one thing, we have a small country and it exterminates for the second time, while we deal with other issues," Aznavour concluded.
