YEREVAN. – Armenia’s National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan begun to openly complain about the loyalty of young members of the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia (RPA). “He measures loyalty by the level of relations with his main enemy, PM [Tigran] Sargsyan,” Hraparak daily writes.“According to our information, one of Abrahamyan’s targets of discontent is Minister of Science and Education Armen Ashotyan, who not only has gotten closer with PM in recent periods, but he also stresses as much as possible that he prefers to have contacts with intellectual party members; and this is also noticeable in governmental sessions when Ashotyan, just like an excellent student, reports to PM with demonstrative respect.   

Ashotyan’s demeanor has angered Abrahamyan so much that he declares everywhere that he is the one who nurtured some and made them somebody, yet they wish to get closer with Tigran Sargsyan, who recently became an RPA member. Another reason to lash out at Ashotyan was his attendance to the birthday party of an opposition newspaper’s journalist,” Hraparak writes.
