YEREVAN. – Inaugural session of the Standing Professional Committee was held on Saturday at Armenian MOD. The session was chaired by Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan. 

The Committee, which comprises representatives form MOD, Presidential Military Inspectorate, and the Ministry of Finance, aims to provide professional suggestions in order to assist in discussion and approval of MOD’s programmatic priorities and main concerns, and to contribute to more effective usage of state funds and reduction of corruption risks, MOD Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.   

Underscoring the newly formed Committee’s mission, Seyran Ohanyan noted that finance and budget planning through high professional standards could benefit efficient and more effective use of  financial resources. 

In his turn, Standing Professional Committee’s Chairman and Defense Minister’s advisor Vahram Barseghyan stated that, with its professional approach, the Committee will contribute to the effective operation of MOD’s entire system of financial management and control.
