BAKU. – German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Herbert Quelle said he saw no signs of stopping the negotiations on Karabakh conflict settlement, except for some false official statements.

Talking to Azerbaijani APA agency, the Ambassador brought an episode as an example of post war period in Germany.

“It took us 20 years after the Federal Republic was founded to find a new approach to solving the German question. And I am convinced it was Willy Brandt’s far-sighted new ostpolitik embedded in the Helsinki process that 40 years after the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic in 1949 led to the fall of the wall. So a lesson I draw from German history is patience and a forward looking political approach. If one only looks back one loses the future,” he told APA.
