YEREVAN. – More than 60% of the World Bank (WB) credit portfolio is carried out for projects implemented in the Armenian villages, head of the WB Yerevan office Jean-Michel Happi said during the forum of Armenian NGOs in Jermuk city.

WB implemented road reconstruction works with the Armenian Ministry of Transportations and Communication in Armenian villages, and reconstructed irrigation systems.

“Regarding social services, WB cooperated with the Ministry of Healthcare by reconstructing several hospitals in the regions. As a whole, WB strategy is to improve the living standards of Armenia,” Happi stated.

Armenia is a WB member since 1992. WB has implemented projects in the amount of $1.495 billion.
