YEREVAN. – “Will the dolphins survive that long?” Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan asked Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan, during the governmental session on Thursday, when the Minister was presenting the matter of providing tax privileges to Dolphinarium-Nemo Company.    

It is proposed that the temporary import customs procedure, whose term expires in November and which is applied for the import of dolphins performing in capital Yerevan’s dolphinarium, be extended for another three years. “They probably will change the dolphins,” PM responded to Economy Minister’s circumlocution.

Dolphins live around thirty years, but those in captivity live much less. They can also die early because of water quality in dolphinariums. That is why all dolphinariums were shut in England.  

Armenia’s dolphinarium opened its doors in 2010.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, Dolphinarium-Nemo Company had petitioned to the Armenian government with the request to extend the temporary import customs procedure.
