Two physicians are arrested in Los Angeles on charges of illegal sale of strong-affecting drugs. Mike Mikaelian and Anjelica Sanamian had received approximately one-million-dollar worth OxyContin tablets from the Medicare system, and, through their clinic, they were to distribute this medicine to the needy, free of charge. But, through their accomplices, they sold the drugs in the black market at a price of $23-$27 for each tablet, United Press International reported.

Prosecutor Andre Birotte informed that fourteen people are arrested in relation to this case, and Mikaelian and Sanamian were the ringleaders and organizers of this criminal gang. They sold the medicine by way of individual drug dealers and several pharmacies.  

Mike Mikaelian’s clinic had ordered 11 thousand OxyContin tablets from Medicare, and this raised suspicions and became the cause for starting an investigation.
