MOSCOW. – The Armenian national football team’s head coach Vardan Minasyan stated that everything changed after the red card during the squad’s recent match against Ireland, and, prior to that red card, the Armenian team was playing as planned and had the advantage.     

“Prior to [Armenia’s goalkeeper Roman] Berezovsky’s sending off, our boys were playing as planned…but that red card changed everything…it is clear that, prior to that, the Irish team’s striker had played with his hand; the linesman should have noticed that. I don’t think there would be a rematch, but there will be a great resonance on this topic, and that, too, is worth something,” Vardan Minasyan told Life Sports.       

In its final Group B match in Euro 2012 qualifiers, Armenia’s national team on Tuesday played an away game in Dublin against Ireland. Armenia was defeated with a score of 2-1 and did not qualify for Euro 2012.
