The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia issued a statement on the statement released by the Azerbaijani MFA after Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's speech at today's Cabinet session of the Armenian government. The statement by the Armenian MFA says as follows, in particular:

Azerbaijani users of social networks and the media themselves have publicized information indicating the buildup of Azerbaijani troops near the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and along the line of contact of Nagorno-Karabakh, which is also confirmed by information from other sources.

In the aforementioned speech, the Prime Minister of Armenia stated that Armenia is committed to the agreements reached on October 6, 2022 in Prague, on October 31, 2022 in Sochi, and on May 14, 2023 in Brussels, thus reaffirming the mutual unconditional recognition of each other's territorial integrity by Armenia and Azerbaijan. Armenia has no territorial claims from Azerbaijan and expects the same from Azerbaijan, which has not yet publicly confirmed its commitment to these agreements.

Armenia is not interested in military escalation, in the past it has proposed and is now proposing mechanisms to exclude such risks which have remained unanswered until now, and is ready to discuss the introduction of other effective mechanisms as well.

Armenia is ready to continue making active efforts to complete the work on the draft treaty on peace and normalization of relations with Azerbaijan, and sign it as soon as possible.

Armenia is committed and remains committed to the agenda of peace and stability in the South Caucasus, while emphasizing the need for similar rhetoric and practical impulses from Baku.

It is obvious that the blocking of the Lachin corridor, the established humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, and the lack of Baku-Stepanakert dialogue within the framework of the international mechanism do not contribute to the improvement of the atmosphere in the region.
