YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia envisions an additional 100-billion-dram ($268,001,000 US) budget revenue for 2012. According to Gagik Minasyan, ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP and Chairman of National Assembly’s Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Committee, this program is realistic. “It is realistic in the sense that we have great opportunities to increase the tax-GDP ratio,” Minasyan stated during a briefing with news reporters.
In his words, PM Tigran Sargsyan has in fact said that “for years on end, our donor organizations point to existing internal resources and the need to redistribute those resources. And increasing the tax-GDP ratio by 0.6 percent is a step taken in that direction.”
“And concerning the 100 billion [drams], a part of that is a result of administration. These include social welfare payments, and I believe this is a fairly tense yet realistic program for our coming year,” Gagik Minasyan noted.
