YEREVAN. - A soldier is detained in connection with the death of Lance Corporal Yurik Nersisyan, who was serving at a military unit in Mataghis, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).  

Along the lines of the criminal case launched into Nersisyan’s death, charges were filed on Monday against the same military unit’s conscript Rafik Mnatsakanyan, Armenian MOD Investigation Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. According to the release, Mnatsakanyan pleaded guilty and gave a testimony of confession. 

On the same day, a petition was filed, with First Instance Court of Syunik Region, to arrest Mnatsakanyan, and the Court ruled that Mnatsakanyan be arrested. 

Investigation of the criminal case is continuing.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, while carrying out duty at a military position, Yurik Nersisyan, 19, had died on October 12 at around 12:40 p.m., by the gun fastened to him.
