YEREVAN. – A huge car crash took place, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, at Martuni-Vardenis highway in Armenia’s Gegharkunik Region. The accident claimed 5 lives.  

A rescue squad was dispatched to the scene, Rescue Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

Three automobiles collided under yet-unknown circumstances.

Mher Ohanyan, 32, driver of one of the vehicles, and passengers Arkady Tadevosyan, 22, Ara Tadevosyan, 25, and Karen Badalyan, 45, died on the spot.   

M. Zaroyan, 26, driver of the second car, and passengers Samvel Yenukyan, 21, Davit Gasparyan, 26, and Sargis Poghosyan, 27, received different-degree bodily injuries and were taken to Martuni city hospital, where Sargis Poghosyan lost his life.    

Voskan Badalyan, 23, driver of the third vehicle, received light injuries and refused emergency medical assistance.

M. Zaroyan is in serious, whereas Samvel Yenukyan and Davit Gasparyan are in satisfactory conditions.
