Twenty-six members of the Turkish security forces were killed and another 22 were wounded in attacks by Kurdish rebels in Turkey’s province of Hakkari early on Wednesday.

Members of Kurdistan Workers’ Party opened fire at several military and police buildings in the province bordering with Iraq, Today’s Zaman reported. PKK did not immediately claim responsibility for the attacks.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan canceled his official visit to Kazakhstan. Accoridng to some reports, he will visit Hakkari province.
