The Israel Defense Forces have reported that a rocket struck a tunnel constructed by the Palestinian group Hamas beneath a high-rise tower in the northern Gaza Strip, as disclosed by the Times of Israel.

In response, the IDF highlighted that the tunnel's proximity to a mosque underscores Hamas's deliberate placement of military infrastructure within civilian areas, condemning such tactics in a statement.

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagar, the IDF's chief spokesman, confirmed that the air force conducted a significant operation targeting Hamas sites in the northern Gaza Strip. He further stated that over 50 fighter jets successfully struck 120 targets within the Beit Hanoun region, significantly impacting Hamas's gathering points used for launching attacks on Israel.

The IDF has, to date, executed approximately 800 strikes since the commencement of hostilities early Saturday, according to Hagar. In an official statement, the Israel Defense Forces labeled Beit Hanoun as a "nest of terror" and cited its use by Hamas for launching attacks on Israel in the past 24 hours.

Hagar additionally emphasized that there are still Hamas militants present in Israel, and Israeli forces are actively engaged in locating and eliminating them. He declared that they were going to clear the area and attack the terrorists wherever they are.
