YEREVAN. – According to its trustworthy sources, within the framework of the census being conducted in Armenia, in several villages they are also registering those who are absent from their permanent place of residence. These people are either outside Armenia, or live somewhere else in the country, Yerkir daily writes.

“So, the people are being registered in their place of birth and, if they are in Armenia, also at their place of residence. In all possibility, the registration officers from the National Statistical Service have received instructions to secure the desired number of population, so it could be proven later that the country’s population is more than three million. More names are needed in the [voters’] lists for the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections,” Yerkir writes.
