STEPANAKERT. – Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) President Bako Sahakyan on Saturday met with OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Robert Bradtke (USA), Igor Popov (Russian Federation), and Bernard Fassier (France).
Issues related to the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict’s settlement and regional developments were discussed during the meeting, NKR Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWSam.
President Sahakyan underlined that Azerbaijan continues the anti-Armenian and anti-Karabakh propaganda, violates the ceasefire and boosts its militarization, and thus seriously hinders the conflict’s settlement prospects and maintenance of regional and international security. The Head of the State noted that bringing Azerbaijan into the constructive stream was among the pivotal issues of the conflict’s settlement process.
The significance of continuing the negotiation process based on direct dialogue and unacceptability of forcible resolution were mutually noted. Both sides stressed that, to secure a palpable progress in the negotiation process, an atmosphere of mutual trust should be created and corresponding steps should be carried out in this direction.
Artsakh Republic’s Acting Foreign Minister Vassily Atajanyan, Andrzej Kasprzyk, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, and other officials were also present at the meeting.
