MOSCOW. – Armenia wishes to establish equal relations with all states, including geopolitical players and regional ones alike, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday stated, during his meeting in Moscow with the students and faculty of Moscow State University, and in response to a question posed with respect to Armenia’s place in the globalization process.       

“Armenia conducts an active policy of engagement in global processes. It actively participates in the EU Eastern Partnership Project (…) In foreign policy, Armenia pays a specific attention to relations with Russia. Bilateral relations carry the nature of military partnership,” Sargsyan noted, Armenian News-NEWS.am’s special correspondent reported from Moscow.

Serzh Sargsyan also recalled the agreement on the Russian military base in Armenia, which was signed in the 1990s and extended past year. “We returned to the agreement and extended its term until the middle of this century. We are allies. We are CSTO [Collective Security Treaty Organization] allies, and that says it all. We want to be a modern country where democracy, security, [and] socioeconomic problems are resolved. We want to be a country with no problems with its neighboring and other states,” Armenia’s President maintained.
