MOSCOW. – Within the framework of his state visit to Russia, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan in Moscow met with Russian PM Vladimir Putin. 

The interlocutors discussed joint plans and economic cooperation issues. 

“In the past year, the goods turnover grew by 19 percent, and in the first six months of this year, by 14 more percent. Russian investments to Armenia’s economy are likewise growing, already [reaching] virtually 3 billion, close to 2.8 billion dollars. In general, we have development of diversified relations in several directions, and these relations are developing with success,” Vladimir Putin stated.    

“Last year our goods turnover reached 1 billion dollars. This is a serious number for small Armenia. Fifty-seven percent of all foreign investments are Russian, [and] approximately 1,500 companies are Russian and joint. Our humanitarian relations are not developing badly,” Serzh Sargsyan noted.    

According to Armenia’s President, during the days of his visit to Russia, arrangements were also reached on new quotas.

Welcoming Sargsyan, Russian PM reflected on the economic, including trade and economic, relations between both countries.

Vladimir Putin likewise highly evaluated the Armenian-Russian relations, which are successfully developing in several directions, noting that he just recently had the opportunity to thoroughly discuss, with Armenia’s PM, the things that need to be done more to more intensively develop bilateral relations. Putin also delightfully underscored that, in general, everything is in working mode.
