A U.S. guided-missile destroyer shot down 14 drones launched by Yemeni Houthis in the Red Sea on Saturday, U.S. Central Command said in a statement.
"In the early morning hours of Dec. 16 (Sanna time), the U.S. Arliegh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS CARNEY (DDG 64), operating in the Red Sea, successfully attacked 14 unmanned aerial vehicles launched in a wave of drones from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen," the statement said.
"The drones were assessed as unilateral strike drones and were shot down with no damage to vessels in the area or reports of injuries. Red Sea regional partners were alerted to the threat," U.S. Central Command notes.
