YEREVAN. - Armenia’s Police Force solved Friday’s horrifying murder.

On Friday, capital Yerevan’s Malatia Police Precinct received information that an automobile was burning underneath the capital’s Victory Bridge, Police Force Public Relations and News Department informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.    

The police squad, which was dispatched to the scene of the incident, discovered a burning red VAZ 2105-model car under the Bridge. On the same day, and once the fire was extinguished, the police found, inside the half-burned vehicle, the body of Yerevan resident Vrezh Grigoryan, 61, which was wrapped in plastic bags and had numerous slash and puncture wounds to the head.     

On the same day, Vrezh Grigoryan’s son, Sipan Grigoryan, 23, was detained on suspicion of murder.

The suspect confessed that, during an argument over domestic issues, in their home on Thursday, he had struck his father’s head with an axe, and his father had died on the spot.     

And to conceal the crime, Sipan Grigoryan, on Friday, placed his father’s body into his father’s VAZ 2105-model car, drove the latter to underneath Victory Bridge, where he set the vehicle on fire. 

The axe used in the crime is seized, and an investigation is underway.
