YEREVAN. - Armenia’s authorities want to have a lot more prosperous, democratic, and secure Armenia, and a stable and peaceful region, as soon as possible, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday stated during his meeting with a European Parliament delegation, led by co-chair Milan Tsabrnokh of the Armenia-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

Sargsyan underscored the European Parliament delegation’s visit to Armenia, expressing a hope that it is a good opportunity to familiarize on location with Armenia’s and the region’s problems, challenges, and developments, and thus to contribute to the strengthening of Armenia-EU relations, Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.      

In Armenian President’s words, it would be useful for the delegation members to meet with the representatives Armenia’s political forces, civil society, and state agencies.

“Our wishes and aspirations are the same. We want to have a lot more prosperous, democratic, and secure Armenia, [and] a stable and peaceful region, as soon as possible. And our efforts are directed to that [end],” President Sargsyan maintained. 

The parties discussed Armenia-EU cooperation, strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties, Armenia’s domestic political processes and foreign policy, and regional issues.
