YEREVAN. – Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu’s statements would hardly have a positive impact on the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, Armenia’s FM Edward Nalbandian stated, on Thursday, commenting on Davutoglu’s recent statement. The latter had thanked Armenia for its humanitarian aid provided to Turkey, but adding this could not contribute to the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.  

“It is apparent that Armenia had expressed readiness to send humanitarian aid to Turkey, and it did that. I do not think Davutoglu’s statements would have a positive impact on the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations. This proves yet again that the Turkish side continues to demonstrate a non-constructive approach, just as during the Zurich meeting,” Nalbandian noted.   

Three days after the devastating earthquake in Van, Turkey, on October 23, the country’s leadership had agreed to receive international humanitarian aid, including from Armenia and Israel. Official Ankara, however, had returned the woolen blankets received from Israel.
