U.S. forces struck several Houthi drones preparing to launch in Yemen on Friday, while U.S. ships also shot down several drones in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said.
The drone strikes over the Gulf of Aden were carried out on Friday morning.
According to CENTCOM's statement, the drone flew from areas of Yemen controlled by the Houthis.
The U.S. later struck four drones that were preparing to launch from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, and then seven more drones that flew over the Red Sea.
The strikes were carried out from the aircraft carriers USS Carney and USS Laboon by F/A-18 aircraft from the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, the statement said.
