YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is preparing to separate the Deputy PM institution from the Ministry of Regional Governance, Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun daily writes.

“Thus, Serzh Sargsyan solves the Armen Gevorgyan problem, as he would remain Deputy PM, that is, as someone in the Government who understands his work and masters that work as a high professional. In parallel, the second problem is solved in this pre-election season, the activities with regional governance bodies are coordinated by someone who can speak with them from other positions and in another level. If, let us say, in this case this refers to [capital] Yerevan’s former Mayor, Gagik Beglaryan, what we mean becomes clear. With his type, Gagik Beglaryan cannot be a deputy PM, but he can make the regional governance bodies’ representatives ‘work’ in favor of [ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia] RPA at the pre-election phase. So, we cannot rule out that Serzh Sargsyan would do just that,” Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun writes.
