YEREVAN. – The news about Mikayel Minasyan, Deputy Chief of Armenia’s Presidential Staff, submitting his resignation and entering ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Campaign Headquarters was unexpected also for National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, who is preparing to leave office and direct the Headquarters. Hraparak daily conducted an interview with Abrahamyan, and the following is an excerpt:     

There is the view that Mikayel Minasyan is coming to supervise you and that he will actually direct the Headquarters. What is your opinion?  

These are fabrications. There is nothing for supervising the director of the Headquarters. In general, my activities have always been transparent. I am convinced that Minasyan is coming with a good mind and I will ask him to be the first deputy director of the Headquarters.

That is to say, you are not worried that they are coming to supervise you?

There is a saying: If you are righteous, why do you worry that they are coming to supervise you? But I am convinced that Mr. Minasyan is coming to help me.
