OSCE is committed to strengthen organization’s work on conflict resolution, said head of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Petros Efthymiou.

“The excellent discussions we had with the Co-Chairs of the Minsk Group and the CiO’s Special Representative on the Conflict dealt with by it, last month in Dubrovnik, – coupled with our work in Moldova – are indicative of our commitment to strengthen the OSCE’s work on conflict resolution,” he said addressing OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna.

He stressed that governments conclude accords for peaceful solutions to conflicts, but it is parliamentarians who build the public support for these solutions, foster understanding about diplomatic processes, and raise public awareness about OSCE work toward lasting peace.

The debates on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict were held on October 8 in Croatia’s Dubrovnik within the framework of the autumn session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
