YEREVAN. – It has become apparent that Armenia’s draft state budget provides annual allocations to preserve animal sperms for artificial insemination of agricultural animals. This amount is reduced in the 2012 Draft State Budget, and this is because the quantity of sperms has reduced.      

During Friday’s budget hearings at the National Assembly, MP Misha Stepanyan stated that the animal sperms are outdated, that they are 25 years old, and it would be much better to direct that amount to more important measures.

And First Deputy Minister of Finance, Pavel Safaryan, noted that the Ministry of Agriculture had actually asked for a greater amount.
