YEREVAN.- As soon as Hovik Abrahamyan joined the Armenian Parliament it became more independent, head of Heritage parliamentary group Stepan Safaryan told journalists on Friday.

According to him, many legislative initiatives of the government were sent back or approved with significant changes.

Today the main task is to provide conditions under which budget would not be criticized and the bills would not be sent back to the government. Safaryan stressed that President needs a “controllable person” on this post. The MP considers that all three candidates recently discussed by media- David Harutunyan, Galust Sahakyan and Samvel Nikoyan - can assume the role.

Commenting on resignation of president’s son-in-law, deputy head of presidential staff Mikael Minasyan, the MP said he will hold post in the election office of Republican Party to avoid unexpectedness. According to him, President Sargsyan is trying to form a homogenous team.

Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan intends to hand in resignation on November 14.
