YEREVAN. – Investments in the projects realized by the State Committee for Water Resources will be reduced, Armenian deputy Minister for Finance Pavel Safaryan said at parliamentary hearings. The allocations will be AMD 7.1 billion next year, as compared to AMD 7.8 billion this year.

According to Prosperous Armenia MP Vahagn Makhsudyan, there is 160,000 (30%) ha agricultural area, which is not used. In response whether this 30 % was taken into account when subsidizing water, the deputy Minister gave a negative answer. Safaryan states that the budget does not subsidize but supports those who use water.

In addition, new investment opportunities are being discussed as budget is limited, head of the State Water Management Committee adjunct to the Ministry of Territorial Administration Andranik Andreasyna said.
