YEREVAN. - Armenian National Security Council (NSC) Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan paid a visit to Russian Federal Security Service (FSS) Border Detachment, in Gyumri city, and presented awards to several military servicemen.
Baghdasaryan also met with officers of the military unit, NSC Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Arthur Baghdasaryan underscored the close cooperation between the two strategic allies of Armenia and Russia, in terms of guaranteeing the security of Armenia’s borders with its two neighboring countries, stressing that Armenia has adopted the objective of having safe and secure borders that meet with international modern-day standards. He also pointed to the Border Detachment’s great contribution to maintaining regional security and stability.
NSC Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan also presented awards to several military servicemen.
And in turn Baghdasaryan was awarded the FSS medal for his assistance in resolving the problems the border guards face and for his contribution to guaranteeing the protection and security of the southern borders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
