YEREVAN. – Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan received on Monday Georgian Minister of Economy Vera Kobalia, governmental press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

PM praised high the current relations between Armenia and Georgia and believed that the coming Armenian-Georgian intergovernmental economic committee forum in Tbilisi will secure development and strengthening of bilateral relations.

“We view Armenia and Georgia as one united economic area. We should eliminate all trade and transportation obstacles for the benefit of our people. About €42 million will be invested by EU in improving the three custom borders between the states,” PM said and added that modern border passes will enable to carry out customs clearance procedures easier and provide high quality services to citizens.

In her turn, the Georgian Minister believed that intergovernmental committee forum on November 17-18 will include issues of implementing various joint projects. The sides also touched upon the Meghri-Batumi road construction, which will provide a shortcut to the road from Iran to the Black Sea saving 180 km (140 miles), as well as IT, industry and other spheres of cooperation.
