YEREVAN. – The Electric Network of Armenia Company is the country’s biggest employer, as of October 2011. According to State Revenue Committee’s list, this company employs 7,385 people. The ArmRusGazprom Company is in second place, with 6,002 employees.

The other companies have a significantly less number of workers. In third place there is the South Caucasus Railways, with 4,367 employees, followed by the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Plant, with 3,196 workers.

The Nairit Rubber Factory, which does not operate at present, still employs 3,003 people. And the Nuclear Power Plant, where 140 employees were recently demanding a pay raise, is also among Armenia’s biggest employers, with 1,771 workers.
