YEREVAN. – According to sources close to the National Assembly (NA), Davit Harutyunyan—the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia MP and Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs—who likewise was among the candidates for the office of NA Speaker, did not agree to assume this post because there will be virtually no NA sessions at this time, Zhoghovurd daily writes.         

“During conversations with his close associates, he said that in all possibility there will be one or two sessions in February, and the parliament’s destiny is uncertain after March, so, it is not worth getting ‘dirty’ over,” Zhoghovurd writes.
