YEREVAN. – U.S. professor Stephen Blank considers that Russia will benefit in case new war for Nagorno-Karabakh.

“The new war for Nagorno-Karabakh may be a disaster for all, who has any relation with the conflict. The one to benefit from the war may become Russia, trying to implement is new imperial ideas,” professor at Strategic Studies Institute of the U.S. Army War College Stephen Blank writes in his new analyses on peace process in Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to him, the recent failures in talks are not surprising. However, following the current tendencies in the Caucasus, it is possible to conclude that if mediation mission will not lead to a significant progress, then the results of the talks may be unexpected, the expert states.

Blank also said that relations between Azerbaijan and the U.S. are developing. Turkish MOD states that Turkey fully supports Baku in defense-industry sector. The two states have signed a contract on state strategic cooperation. Thus, Baku decided to reject Moscow demands on subordinating to its defense and security policy.
