Within the framework of 33rd Session of UNESCO General Conference, elections were held, on November 4, for the Organization’s committees, commissions, and other auxiliary bodies.

In the second elective group which included Armenia—along with other Eastern European and ex-USSR countries—Bulgaria, Slovakia, Armenia, and Latvia had applied for the three vacant spots in the Council of the UNESCO International Bureau of Education.

And as a result of voting, and by receiving 108 votes, Armenia became member in this Council, where the country will be represented by Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Karine Harutyunyan.
