YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday received Japan’s newly appointed Ambassador to Armenia, Takehito Harada (diplomatic residence in Moscow), who presented his credentials to Sargsyan.

The President congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success. Noting that Armenia places an importance to comprehensive development and deepening of Armenian-Japanese relations, Sargsyan delightfully recorded the liveliness in political contacts, especially in recent years, and the regular political consultations between the foreign affairs ministries of the two countries, Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.                   

Serzh Sargsyan also expressed a hope that the considerable potential in the current cooperation between Armenia and Japan would be fully utilized during the Ambassador’s term in office.

In his turn, Ambassador Takehito Harada assured he would do his utmost to deepen the bilateral ties. He also noted that next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Japan, and this would be yet another good opportunity to hold various cultural events and to develop and carry out economic cooperation projects.
