YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday attended and delivered opening remarks at congress of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia.
Below is an excerpt from the President’s remarks:
“Our goal is to establish a society that is organized and confident of its strength, and its center is the person. We need to become a society which creates the best conditions for exposing the creative capabilities of each individual.
It is the businessman’s mission to unite the resources and create a new value. Our country’s geographical peculiarities somewhat objectively fetter business development and the variety of activities. Small domestic markets usually limit the minimum volumes required for production and supply, and reduce economic productivity. This is a reality, but we have no right to lose hope because of this and other similar obstacles.
As a country with a small market, we must be able to become the specialized part of the developed global industrial system, and this would enable to secure our domestic development and growth. The necessary transformation is right here.
Business needs incentives and we will secure them. The Government’s steps in this direction are gradually yielding results and gaining your appraisal.”
