YEREVAN. – I do not have the right to not believe that the authorities would conduct free and transparent elections, ruling coalition’s Prosperous Armenia Party MP Vardan Bostanjyan stated during a press conference on Thursday.
He also recalled he was a member of the working group that prepared the draft for the new Electoral Code, which the National Assembly already approved.
As per Bostanjyan, the new Electoral Code was subjected to international testing, and it is impossible to find any weak spots in it. “But if you wish to find any flaws during elections, I hope that would be connected with us, and not the Electoral Code. We still have not reached such high level, such legal self-consciousness, [and] such high principles to truly be able to hold free and transparent elections,” Vardan Bostanjyan maintained.
