YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Deputy PM and Regional Governance Minister Armen Gevorgyan visited the Armavir Region, on Friday.

At Myasnikyan community, Gevorgyan attended official opening of the community’s school. The latter was renovated within the framework of the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF), and it is envisioned for 600 schoolchildren. US$ 1.5 million were spent to renovate and furnish the school, and this is COAF’s fifth such school project in the Region, Regional Governance Ministry’s Information and Public Relations Department informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.        

On behalf of the Government, Armen Gevorgyan thanked the Fund’s founder Garo Armen, expressing a hope these projects would continue. 

Deputy PM also visited Armavir’s School No. 10, which is included in the Priority Regional Issue Resolution Program, and familiarized with the preparations. Once the respective contracts are signed, the School’s renovation will commence.

Armen Gevorgyan also inspected the activities carried out in Armavir’s School No. 5, which is likewise included in the aforesaid Program. After being fully renovated, 1,141 children will receive education in this school.
