VAN. – Police again used force against people who gathered at Van’s Bayram hotel ruins and criticized authorities for inactivity to eliminate consequences of earthquake.
Police dispersed people by using tear gas, Turkish Hurriyet reports.
A day before Turkish deputy PM Besir Atalay and Van city Mayor visited the hotel ruins to familiarize with the situation. The earthquake victims gathered and demanded that Mayor should resign. Police could not tolerate it and dispersed people by using tear gas and beating them with clubs.
