YEREVAN. - In the first 9 months of 2011 19 thousand cars were imported to Armenia, which exceeds the figure for the relevant period of the last year by 7 thousand. Import of passenger cars is in third place of Armenia’s import system, following gas and oil products.

The overall cost of vehicles imported into Armenia during the first 9 months of 2011 makes $161 million.

Provided that in 2011 the rules for calculating the customs value of vehicles were tightened, the import of old, second-hand cars would naturally increase.
