YEREVAN. – Armenian capital Yerevan’s former Mayor Karen Karapetyan is not yet appointed to any new post, as of Friday, Haykakan Zhamanak daily writes.

Karapetyan resigned on October 28, and the official reason was that he was offered a new job. And one day after the resignation, the Russian press wrote that Karapetyan was to become the deputy of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Russian energy company, Gazprom.

But on Friday, nothing was mentioned on Gazprom’s website, with respect to Karen Karapetyan’s appointment. And informed sources note the appointment has not yet taken place, also adding that Karapetyan will not be appointed Miller’s deputy. Those close to Yerevan’s former Mayor, however, insist the appointment will take place within the coming month, Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
