YEREVAN. – Ashot Snjoyan (Yezidi Ashot), the bodyguard of Ruben Hayrapetyan, Armenian MP and President of the Football Federation, who had inflicted a gunshot wound to two bodyguards of MP Aleksandr (Sashik) Sargsyan, in a restaurant on August 15, will not be held to account, Haykakan Zhamanak daily writes.
Sashik Sargsyan’s bodyguards likewise will not be subjected to liability because the ensuing criminal case was dismissed on November 3, on the grounds that the parties reconciled. Initially, a criminal case was launched on charges of unwittingly causing a serious health injury. Such charges are laid when someone accidentally drops a heavy metal object on someone’s foot. And the incident’s outcome assumed that any one of the parties would have to face criminal responsibility, Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
