YEREVAN. – Rescue Service of the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) received a call, on Friday at 9 p.m., informing that an Opel had went off road, at 56th kilometer of the Yeghegnadzor-Meghri Highway, and was hanging off the valley.
The regional rescue team, which was dispatched to the scene, discovered five more vehicles that had gone off road. And with assistance of the rescuers, the Opel and the other five vehicles were brought back onto the road, MES informed.
While returning, the rescue team also came across a 16-vehicle pile-up, at the 53rd kilometer, which was caused by icy road and snowfall. Due to efforts by the rescuers, road cleaning service, and Road Police, the traffic resumed on Saturday at 2:50 a.m.
