YEREVAN. – Artashat City Precinct of Armenia’s Police Force received information on Friday that a VAZ 2106-model car, which belongs to Edgar H., was stolen.   

And the vehicle was found, on the same day nearby Hovtashen village, with Zaven Khachatryan, 26, at its driver’s seat. Seeing the police officers, Khachatryan attempted to drive away to escape, but the officers prevented that.  

Khachatryan then got off the automobile, threatened the law enforcement officers with a knife, did not obey their lawful instructions, and as a result one of the police officers fired two warning shots into the air, after which Khachatryan tried to escape, but he was apprehended. 

The knife is seized, and the stolen car is transferred to vehicle impoundment area. 

Zaven Khachatryan is detained, and an investigation is underway,  Police Force Public Relations and News Department informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
