YEREVAN. - By expediting the ratification of CSTO agreements with Armenia, perhaps, only Russia can be compared, head of the parliamentary commission on defense, security and domestic affairs Hrayr Karapetyan said.

“The agreements of heads of CSTO states are ratified in time as well. However, only Russia shows such activity,” Karapetyan said commenting on the results of participation of the Armenian delegation in the intergovernmental Assembly CSTO Committee session on defense and security in St Petersburg, Russia.

A number of issues were discussed on harmonizing legislative activity of CSTO PA, including quick reaction, Karapetyan added. According to him, other issues on mutual support in case of emergency were discussed as well.

Armenia has established mechanisms to send rescue teams and aid. It is logical that they operate more effectively within such an alliance as the CSTO, Karapetyan concluded.
