YEREVAN. – Inaugural meeting between Armenia’s Ambassador to Canada, Armen Yeganyan, and members of the re-formed Canada-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group was held at the Parliament of Canada, on Tuesday.
This group currently has 18 Canadian MPs, MFA Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
During the meeting, Ambassador Yeganyan presented the main directions of, and current challenges facing, Armenia’s foreign policy.
The parties also underscored the need to strengthen Armenian-Canadian friendship, specifically the development of interparliamentary cooperation. The Ambassador also expressed a gratitude to the MPs for the Canadian parliament’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Armen Yeganyan responded to questions by the Parliamentary Group’s Chair, Harold Albrecht, and other members.
