YEREVAN. – The biggest problem in Armenia’s system of governance is the huge amount of corruption, and no mayor can effectively work under such conditions, capital Yerevan’s former Mayor, economist Vahagn Khachatryan stated, during a press conference on Wednesday, reflecting on Taron Margaryan becoming Yerevan’s new Mayor.   

And in response to a news reporter’s question as to whether he had made mistakes during his tenure as Yerevan’s Mayor, Khachatryan genuinely said “yes.”

He also recalled that he was in office as mayor in the years when Yerevan’s residents did not have electricity and water supply.
