YEREVAN.- Governor of Armenia’s Syunik Region Suren Khachatryan was summoned to the Special Investigation Service in relation to the case on beating a woman.

“I was called to the Service and was questioned,” Governor told the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent.

He dismissed reports saying he would leave Armenia for France where his son would study. “I have no intention to leave the country. My son is studying at the Goris State University. I love my country and will never go somewhere else,” he said.

Armenia’s Special Investigation Service instigated a criminal case against Armenia’s Syunik Region Governor Suren Khachatryan. Armenian businesswoman Silva Hambardzumyan has filed the lawsuit as a result of being beaten by Khachatryan at Armenia-Marriot hotel on Monday.
