YEREVAN. – In comparison with the same time period last year, Armenia’s economic activity index is 2.4 percent, for October 2011, states the release which the Armenian National Statistical Service issued on Monday.
To note, this is a fairly low indicator, in comparison with the previous months. As case in point, economic activity was 9 percent, in September, and 9.6 percent, in August.
And the primary reason for such drop in economic activity is the neutralization of the agricultural season’s factor. So, the agricultural drop constitutes 36 percent, in one month alone.
In comparison with September 2011, all agricultural branches suffered a reduction in October 2011, and the greatest drop, after agriculture, was registered in exports, with 21 percent.
